Lorca is a city in the autonomous region of Murcia. The city plays a key part in Spanish history; in the Middle Ages, Lorca was the frontier town between Christians and Muslims, leaving behind one of its most valued treasures, el Castillo de Lorca which overlooks the city from a strategic location, and is distinctly visible from a distance. Built by the Moorish inhabitants during the 13th century, the castle has recently been reformed to become Lorca´s most famous tourist attraction.
