Huercal Overa is a large town located on the border of the Almeria and Murcia provinces. With an area of 318km², Huercal Overa is home to just under 20,000 citizens.

Huercal Overa has some of the best restaurants in the area, taking advantage of the local agriculture, with freshly grown vegetables brought to the restaurants daily. Huercal Overa hosts a market every Monday, and the town boasts a long stretch of road with shops on either side, ranging from opticians to big-name branded shops. Huercal Overa is also home to one of three hospitals in the Almeria province; Hospital La Inmaculada is rated one of the best hospitals in Spain, with some of the countries´ top surgeons and medics.

One of the most popular hamlets of Huercal Overa, El Saltador is located just a few kilometres from the town centre, at an altitude of 286m. El Saltador is a small & friendly hamlet, with a strong farming history, and the hamlet enjoys a beautiful mountain back drop set amongst rolling fields.

Urcal is another popular hamlet of Huercal Overa which is located 10km away from the town centre. Úrcal is a small hamlet with a friendly Spanish population. Again popular with property hunters because of the close proximity to Huercal Overa and the beaches of San Juan de Los Terreros.
